Namo Buddha a magnificent Buddhist monastery lies 38 km east of Kathmandu with 1,750 meters. Namo Buddha is one of the most important pilgrim sites in the valley, particularly for Mahayana Buddhists.

In one of his previous lives as a prince, it was here that the Buddha gave up his body out of compassion for a starving tigress and her cubs. It has a fantastic story concerned with the Buddha which is commemorated by an ancient stone slab and a Stupa with the all-seeing eyes of Lord Buddha.
